Day 65: The Catch Up

Photo of the Day: 2,000 Calories

Today is another one of those days I have absolutely no motivation or inspiration to take pictures. To my faithful readers, I apologize for my utter lack of effort in today's photographic documentation. It was a pretty simple day consisting of church, followed by the customary group lunch, this time in Bayside. We dined on deep-dish Chicago pizza at Uno, then swung by Ralph's Italian Ices for some tiramisu creme ice, which was so delicious and had a unique consistency unlike any other frozen treat I've tried. The rest of my evening has been mostly catching up on a lot work on which I'm quite behind. It's going to be one heck of a week, so I want to make sure I'm well-rested and equipped to tackle the challenges ahead.

The book I've been reading in my spare time, a sprawling epic of a novel called The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. I recommend it if you're in the mood to tackle a complex and engaging plot.

  1. you've read it?! it is a very absorbing book. it's so hard for me to find good reads, so i'm trying to pace myself. i am very tempted to just tear through it until the end though!

  2. yep! i've read it a couple times, but it's been a while. haha.. i was unable to control myself and finished it in big gulps. the writing is really beautiful! and it's a translation, which makes me wonder how it reads in Spanish.

  3. i know, right? there are a couple awkwardly worded parts that i just know were probably so much wittier and elegant in Spanish.
